We know how keen many people are to learn new things and we are pleased to have put together an extensive range of workshops for all tastes and abilities. These will take place in various venues around the town on Saturday and Sunday (to be confirmed nearer the time).

All workshops are limited to 30 attendees.
This workshop is designed to be lots of fun! Aimed at children, participants will make their own ukulele, using an Utterly Butterly tub, a piece of wood, and some fishing wire. The results are surprisingly good – see for yourself on http://www.tubup.org/.
Parents are welcome to supervise or just sit in and watch, free of charge - or you may want to pay £10 and join in! This workshop is sure to be full of fun and laughter - it’s not every day you get to strum a margarine tub!

Come and join this talented young man and learn how to play/improve your ukulele skills. He’s coming all the way from Belgium to perform at our festival and teach you a little of what has been mastered by his fair hands.
Time: 1.00pm - 2.30pm
All the way from the US of A, Join Bartt in his sensational strumming and picking skills! Whether you just want to learn some basic techniques or dazzle your fingers and minds, his workshops are a whole lot of fun – lots of learning and laughter.
From Holland, Shelley and Marko (‘The Uke Box’) will inspire people who have never tried the ukulele to pick one up and give it a try. Perhaps you could strum along on your newly-made Utterly Butterly uke? Be warned – it’s addictive!

Join Steven Sproat in one of his very popular workshops. Steven lives in Gloucestershire, and performs and teaches throughout the world. Comedian Harry Hill and actor Sir Tom Courtenay are among his pupils. Steven is also co-founder of UkeGlos, Cheltenham’s own and forever-growing ukulele club!
Steven will give you two hours of informative, constructive tuition. This session is aimed at players who want to improve their playing skills.

Another opportunity for beginners and improvers to spend some time with this very talented young man from Belgium. He teaches with confidence and patience

Another chance to be part of this fun workshop, making your very own ukulele from an Utterly Butterly tub.
Time: 3.00pm - 5.00pm
Take a song, play it, and then pull it to pieces and find the melodies in it! This is exactly what Colin will teach you with one chosen song. It’s a very different kind of workshop!
A Workshop for newcomer’s. Clive has years of experience. He is a songwriter, performer and has performed with Sir Paul McCartney. Get a taste of what the ukulele is all about!
