The festival will be held over two days on Saturday 19th June and Sunday 20th June 2010. Precise details will be provided in the programme, but to give you some idea of what is in store for you take a look below.
Saturday 19th June
Morning
The Big Busk
We intend to take the town by storm and show them what these lovely little instruments can do. All the songs will be simple so even relative beginners will be able to join in (we will let you know beforehand what they will be).
This will take place in the very heart of Cheltenham, in The Promenade. See our locations page for more details.
Come along, and join in what could well be the BIGGEST UKULELE BUSK ever!
Afternoon
There will an afternoon of performance, jamming, workshops and general ukulele fun at the Exmouth Arms in Bath Road, Cheltenham (see locations for more details).
Evening
The Gala Night
Be prepared for a fun-packed night including a Ukulele Club competition, open mic and other performances.
For the winners of the club competition, there might even be an opportunity to perform at the Town Hall on Sunday!?!
This event will be held in the Student Union Bar in the Park Campus of the University of Gloucestershire (just a short walk from the Exmouth Arms where we will be in the afternoon).
Tickets can be purchased online for the Gala Night, either separately or as part of the weekend ticket. Children are very welcome.
Sunday 20th June
The main event for the festival will take place on Sunday, starting at midday and closing at around 10.30pm.
There will be a full line-up, with two stages, workshops, stands (where you can buy ukuleles, ukulele-related merchandise, and all those little bits and pieces we all love to buy at festivals - not forgetting your festival t-shirt, of course!) and more...
This will take place in the Cheltenham Town Hall, and tickets can be bought online as part of the weekend ticket or separately.
